‘The Beginning & End Of Cereal Killer” is the band’s first full length album to date and also their last release since 2016’s, “Demo’s EP”. The album was recorded over six weeks of tracking in the famous Geelong studios, “The Barracks”, before calling upon mastermind Mikey Young to sail his yacht across the bay and put his much practised mixing techniques into full effect. The result is mind-blowing.Cereal Killer gained worldwide success in 2016 after their headline performances at Glastonbury and Coachella festivals where they blew away hundred’s of thousands of adorning fans and reached international stardom. The band have not performed since 2018’s Old Bar show on August 17, in which a predicted 7,000 screaming fans crammed into the building. However, rumours of an album launch on August the 3rd this year are emerging, and tickets are predicted to sell out within the first hour of sale.
Lunatic moon! What did you give birth to? A blip, slipshod and shooting has rebooted. Just who are these Hierophants and where on earth have they been - If even on earth at all? They stopped by once before traversing verses and entered obscurity shortly after their 2015 release Parallax Error. As the stars would have it, again they have merged, conceiving their latest LP Spitting Out Moonlight on a hill in Rye and left with Mikey Young to make sense of it all. They are here to put lamps in your lobes where no other light goes. A synapse perhaps, nosing through nodes of those who know it is in their best interest - it is in your best interest - to surrender. Their release is nigh, so seek them now and decide for yourself, does it make you feel neurotic, neuronic, or even moronic?Quick! It is only a short stopover, a glitch visiting and phasing in, out. Anti Fade! Thy saviour of light! Oh, yes, it is very moonee, very moonee indeed.
This here is the (official) bio for Do It Better Again – the second full-length from GONZO. GONZO are a rock band. Gonzo are from Melbourne via Geelong. Do it Better Again is out on long playing vinyl through Anti Fade Records from March 29.GONZO met and formed in the sunny seaside town of Ocean Grove where they all happened to live on the same street. This must have been around 2014 while finishing high school. It was the best of times. This is the follow up to their debut album, Gonzo by Gonzo. This record is better.Do It Better Again was recorded over three days in a Castlemaine stable that was built in 1857, when things were built better. It was recorded and mixed entirely using analogue gear, so it feels better. The first time it touched a computer was in the hot hands of Mikey Young for mastering, so it sounds better too.GONZO aren't punk, indie, shoe-gaze, psych, whatever. GONZO are a rock band. And a real one. GONZO reference classic rock sounds like The Saints, The Victims, Gang of Four, and the Easybeats alongside modern sounds of Thee Oh Sees, Eddy Current Suppression Ring and Uranium Club. See for yourself.
Edition of 500 copies with a hand-numbered fold-over sleeve.Recorded in Nashville, USA 2012.The lacquer cutting engineer is identified by the run-out etchings.
Following two excellent singles, Jake Robertson finally gets serious with the ALIEN NOSEJOB solo series with this, his debut LP. While those two stuck relatively close to the rock’n’jerk’n’pop that we’ve come to enjoy over the various bands Jake has been a part of, this LP is a whole new beast (alien?). Taking a notable step to the side, off the path, and into the brush, this album sees Robertson flirting with calypso and goofy pop. It rules. We finally have our punk Paraiso, and who better to bring it to us than the man who brought us other Fox Network Specials such as “The Five Fabulous Weeks of the Chevy Chase Show”.Alien Nosejob is Jake Robertson (of Ausmuteants, Hieropants and Frowning Clouds) and the four songs are bedroom recordings, augmented by a full-blown horns section in one instance. Sounds like early Devo on a meth trip with its stuttering guitar and jerky rhythms fitting perfectly.
