From Godriguez:Meditations is GODTET diving into our own minds, journeying together, by ourselves to where we wanted at the time to go.. There was a definite sense of wanting to abandon (albeit all unspoken) any of GODTET’s previous vibes and any other musical contexts we all often exist in. It is definitely a world where we, the musicians, can create a starting point and see where our minds take us. We wait either for ourselves or each other to see where we’d like to journey (or not journey) at all and be happy to sit put in one place for a while. The Meditations are almost a reaction; A protest? - To having to do the normal thing as musicians we’re expected to do (Make a big good exciting thing now!) If anything it's a blueprint for the future of the GODTET “sound”, it is to be unexpected. “Expect the unexpected” is quite the cliche yet it’s probably the most fitting for what I foresee the GODTET future as sounding. Unbound by any expectations or contexts or having to repeatedly play music in any certain way - it feels almost like a manifestation of our freedom and personal agent to not be beholden to anything as musicians.Meditations is the most open statement and platform GODTET has produced to date. Wiping the slate clean, this erasure allows us infinite possibilities.. Anywhere and everywhere to go from here... To be definable or restricted is the antithesis of what GODTET is about. GODTET PLAYS FOR ITSELF. Our own curiosity, pleasure, introspection, play, ourselves.
boomkat: ...On their eponymous sophomore outing picnic reveal a fuller picture of their sound. The eight original pieces are given to sensitively mulched textures and softly glowing pads mottled with new age spirited strings and wafting voices. It’s nothing particularly new or inventive but works it’s way under the skin with pharmaceutic efficacy, at its lushest in the descriptive title and feel of ‘drops in the water (with tics)’, and the gently keening, hypnagogic appeal of ‘basket.’ released February 11, 2021Artwork by Rissa HochbergerInner labels by Sam MullanyAdditional artwork by Ken NicoleMastered by Shy (3XL)
Singing Dust: ...One of Australia’s most mysterious jazz long players, the eponymous creation of Queensland pianist Robert Welsh. Originally released in 1986, Singing Dust offers a dynamic collection of songs rich in expressive performance and compositional fluidity. Inspired by the sounds of Indian devotional song, the jazz piano styles of Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett, English folk music and Debussey’s tonal impressions, this is a work of true dedication and posterity that will appeal to many serious music lovers. from daisart: ...About:‘where i am allowed to sit for one more day, and this is an endless wonder’... A transversal thing from object to image. This book by ‘J’ inlcudes poetry, prose, drawings and contributions from Angelina Nonaj, Hanne Boulanger, Emily Yuting Chen, Sam Horman, Harriet Jones, Sami Domenico, Laila Sakini, and Sam Mullany; plus an interview with ‘J’ by Lauryn Groševs.Excerpt:I can find it difficult to articulate things into words, it's as if I can't find the (right) words. Sometimes it's a gesture, a look or a glance, or a simple movement that seems to communicate, or embody, what I want to say or what I "mean". The next question, for me, is what changes, or rather who. The absurdity of closeness, of putting things together, building meaning.128 pp.Text by JWith contributions by Angelina Nonaj, Hanne Boulanger, Emily Yuting Chen, Sam Horman, Harriet Jones, Sami Domenico, Laila Sakini, Sam Mullany and Lauryn Groševs.Perfect bound softcoverCover art "song" by Harriet Jones111 x 185 mmFirst edition of 225Language: EnglishNaarm, November 2021ISBN 978-0-6453065-0-7
Dear listener,On behalf of re:discovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce the reissue of 'Synaesthetic' by A Positive Life. A seminal release that became beloved by their owners but somehow slipped thru the cracks on recognition on both sides of the Atlantic. The album Is chalk full of top-notch tracks in this style. It features the magical Orb-esque single 'The Calling', which helped show the way forward to a deeper meaning in electronic music while the amazing 'Pleidean Communication', took this journey even deeper. 'Spacehopper' & 'Bathtub' latched on to the growing trance sound of the time but as you can hear, they are prime examples at ones that were successful at not going overboard but kept the sound timeless with a less is more approach. 'Aquasonic' is a classic in the ambient dub scene that concludes this album on a memorable note. A special treat to this reissue is that we included 'Warehouse 5am', which was only featured on the American cd version. Originally released in 1994 and having recently grown a warranted cult status as copies became hard to secure for a reasonable value, we are happy to present this in a beautiful package with no expense sacrificed. It is our hope that they bring you as much happiness as they have brought us and that this release gives them new life to a new audience and a special fond memory to those that knew them."Once upon a time there was a young man.rough at the edges but with stars in his eyes"Synaesthetic : A sonic love letter to the years of Acid House, Chemistry, Science, inner space, love, friendship and journeys into the Ultraworld..Be a light in the darknessStay highFind the "others"Lifer x"i(signature)Stefan PierlejewskiCommand Pilot - rd004Pathways : Jarre.
