ORANGE MILK RECORDS: ... Annulus is Ryu Yoshizawa’s third release on Orange Milk as Koeosaeme. His 2019 LP Obanikeshi was a barrage of high resolution abstract compositions, and Annulus picks up from there, refining the style and adding an extra layer of inspiration from the Southeast Asian folk music of Burma, Thailand, China, etc. He inserts music concrete with silky repetition, making you feel as if you are walking through parts of Asia, contemplating experimental music. Annulus is peaceful, melodic, atonal, and flows together as one big piece. Part 1 of the record is concrete music, and Part 2 is described as abstract music. It is distinctly Japanese despite other western influences like Steve Reich and Jon Hassell; music meant for a documentary that will be made in the distant future. Annulus features collaborations with Hidekazu Sakamoto, Seth Graham, and LXV.Koeosaeme is Ryu Yoshizawa. From 2004, he has been a member of the sound artists group “OFFICE INTENZIO” under Yellow Magic Orchestra’s Yukihiro Takahashi. In addition, he is in charge of live event backup support and recordings for Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi, Kyoka and many others. He also produces music commercially for Lotte and Square Enix.
Dear listener,On behalf of re:discovery records, it is with great excitement that we announce the reissue of 'Synaesthetic' by A Positive Life. A seminal release that became beloved by their owners but somehow slipped thru the cracks on recognition on both sides of the Atlantic. The album Is chalk full of top-notch tracks in this style. It features the magical Orb-esque single 'The Calling', which helped show the way forward to a deeper meaning in electronic music while the amazing 'Pleidean Communication', took this journey even deeper. 'Spacehopper' & 'Bathtub' latched on to the growing trance sound of the time but as you can hear, they are prime examples at ones that were successful at not going overboard but kept the sound timeless with a less is more approach. 'Aquasonic' is a classic in the ambient dub scene that concludes this album on a memorable note. A special treat to this reissue is that we included 'Warehouse 5am', which was only featured on the American cd version. Originally released in 1994 and having recently grown a warranted cult status as copies became hard to secure for a reasonable value, we are happy to present this in a beautiful package with no expense sacrificed. It is our hope that they bring you as much happiness as they have brought us and that this release gives them new life to a new audience and a special fond memory to those that knew them."Once upon a time there was a young man.rough at the edges but with stars in his eyes"Synaesthetic : A sonic love letter to the years of Acid House, Chemistry, Science, inner space, love, friendship and journeys into the Ultraworld..Be a light in the darknessStay highFind the "others"Lifer x"i(signature)Stefan PierlejewskiCommand Pilot - rd004Pathways : Jarre. ORANGE MILK RECORDS: ...Headbanging In The Club is an ode to the Pittsburgh underground electronic music community. In a small city with very few recognized club spaces, we make our own clubs in the underground on our own terms. We celebrate our unique intersections of noise, punk, breakcore, IDM, and DnB as we headbang and thrash around. What defines a club space? Who says we can't bring the club to the punk venue? We challenge the frameworks of club culture and what it means to dance in the club. This album is the essence of a hardcore dance experience on the fringes of the Burgh. && we headbang in the club.with love,W00dyAll tracks were written for live performance and have been played all over the US in the past three years.
Welcome to Roseville, the 7th studio album by Har Mar Superstar. Sean Tillmann’s latest collection of songs is career defining culmination of life and musical experiences that were heavily influenced by 70s AM gold artists including Todd Rundgren, Elton John, Carole King, David Bowie, Paul McCartney, Genesis, Hall and Oates, Meat Loaf, Dory Previn, and ELO. The album came together in the late months of 2020 and is the first true collaborative effort of the whole touring band. It was distance recorded by all of the members in their home studios and the band’s home base, Mid City Studio, in Minneapolis. It has been described as an “existential homecoming” that chronicles Tillmann’s return to life as a Minnesotan over the last 5 years. Most of the album was produced by bandmates Aaron Baum and Ryan Mach. John Fields (Jonas Brothers, Andrew WK, Har Mar’s 2004 album “The Handler”) returned to Team Har Mar producing “Solid Ghost” and “Hearts Have Misspoken”, and Ryan Olson (Poliça, Gayngs, Swamp Dogg) dropped in to produce “Patchwork Prisms”. Texas musical legends in the making Kam Franklin (The Suffers) and Jackie Venson (one of the greatest guitarists alive) popped by to elevate “Another Century” into a soul duet masterpiece. Denver Dalley (Desaparecidos) and T. Macey Taylor (Bright Eyes, Jenny Lewis, Amanda Shires) appear on “Where We Began” which they helped write on the road while supporting Afghan Whigs a few years back. The band is Nelson Devereaux, Jake Baldwin, Adam Hurlburt, Ethan Elseth, Aaron Baum, and Ryan Mach, and everyone had a hand in co-writing to help make this album a united, genre hopping masterpiece. The whole album is a cohesive journey designed to be listened to front to back, but each track is strong enough to stand on its own.
The wait is over. Somewhere between the rodeo clowns in the summer and archangels at the end of time: Blectum from Blechdom have returned. This is obvious from the moment your needle drops on their new album 'DeepBone' and never lets you forget it. Swirling swarms of inhumanly perky voices bounce between your speakers, only taking breaths for the electronics to be equally overcharged. Hyper-melodic glitches and helium-contaminated Broadway arrangements are all interwoven with brocaded beats and elegant fractal architectures, sending an important message: Brain go crazy now! This duo, composed of Kevin Blechdom and Blevin Blectum, bring us their 6th official album and first for Deathbomb Arc. Digital due on July 23rd and vinyl in the fall; both on pre-sale now.
