ORANGE MILK RECORDS: ...Never Stop Texting Me by More Eaze and Claire Rousay is a pop record. Melodies and chorus in every track about crushes, collaborating with friends, and the mundane of everyday life. Maybe the first mention of Bandcamp Friday in a pop song? Mari and Claire share an equal amount of duties on the record, rendering it a pure representation of their collaborative work. The appeal of this record is the assertive pop blending w Robert Ashley like moments which simultaneously satiates the desire to hear structure and the abstract. The album is funny, sad, interesting, accessible, and very honest. Includes collaboration w Bloodzboi and How To Dress Well.
Avon Terror Corps: ...On the event horizon for a while, at last we’re able to share the first full length hard copy from Bad Tracking - known in the flesh as Gordon Apps and Max Kelan. Edge-to-edge, this duo inhabit a cold realm where every endpoint is compromised and circuit board is fried. Their notorious and blistering live show immortalised in the thousand yard stare of its survivors - innocent bystanders who often struggle to erase the experience from their now, corrupted memory dumps.LP opener ‘Heart’ promptly sets the tone - greeting us with an auditory blue screen of death, jittering and shuddering forwards with no known resolution…. But it’s not long before blasts of harsh rhythmic noise erupt from static, dissociated fog. By ‘Black Rew’, proceedings reach full velocity before crashing abruptly to a halt. Beneath the squall, you can almost hear the drone back at the data centre as the operator pulls frantically at the underlay, struggling to distinguish sinew from circuitry and meshwork.Reboot the system onto Side B, and we’re even treated to a guest appearance from Harry ‘Iceman’ Furniss, who’s cornet eructs some of the only distinguishably organic matter on the record. Then, power on through more mechanical, pulsating chaos - until outro ‘Leisure Park’ hoses you off and sends you on your way.Hardwire yourself into this one...
Emerging from their “Funk Church” jam sessions in 2017 at Seattle’s legendary Royal Room jazz club and premieres on KEXP, High Pulp steps onto the world stage. The forthcoming three volumes of ‘Mutual Attraction’ will showcase the octet’s psychedelic fusion of hip-hop, jazz, funk and soul. Volume 1 starts things off on a spiritual jazz journey via covers of three music icons: Pharoahe Sanders, Sun Ra, and Alice Coltrane. It’s an inspired take on ‘60s and ‘70s improvisational music and throughout, High Pulp displays unique skill, poise, and top-class musicianship that goes far beyond their short few years together.
After more than three decades as a lost classic, the debut album by Washington DC soul/gospel outfit Enlightment is finally receiving a proper release.Founded by ordained bishop Larry H. Jordan and his brother-in-law Frank Tinsley in the early 1980s, Enlightment was among the first groups to fuse modern R&B production with gospel themes. Unfortunately, the independent release of their 1984 debut album Faith Is The Key was torpedoed when both their distributor and pressing plant went out of business. "We knew we were getting airplay across the country, but we couldn't get the product in the stores at the time", explains Tinsley of the missed opportunity. Only a handful of Faith Is the Key LPs ever made it into the public's hands.

After the demise of the Ooga Boogas in the Before Time, the four band members went their very separate ways. Being in that band was such an intense high pressure experience, some chillax time was well-deserved.Stacky recorded under the name Leon, Per joined Voice Imitator, Mikey recorded with The Green Child and Rich played in Drug Sweat. All quite deserving projects, but it was Leon's solo outing that garnered the most interest from public and industry alike. The demand for live shows led Leon to recruit Per from Ooga Boogas and a guy named Brad into his touring lineup. The trio was red hot, but inevitably the venues they filled required a fuller sound so Leon recruited Mikey from Ooga Boogas on second guitar. The gruelling touring schedule became too much for family-man Brad, so Rich from Ooga Boogas jumped in to fill his size 11s and off they went for another lap of regional Victoria.Eventually the question presented itself to this freshly-minted foursome: should they continue as Leon's backing band or strike out anew with a fresh identity? The answer came in a moniker too electrifying to resist; a name as clever, enigmatic and indeed, as powerful as the band itself. Power Supply.Back in the shed, jams became songs, jokes became lyrics and long afternoons spent together became the record you're now half-listening to while you yearn for your inbox. Listen though, and you'll hear life through the lens of Leon and the tactile tentacles of his pals. In The Time of the Sabre-toothed Tiger contains ten songs that listen so easy, you'll barely notice when they're gone.
Sjunne Ferger on Bandcamp: ...Occupying its own hinterland within Scandinavia's early 80s electronic/ progressive movements, ‘Mindgames’ navigates a lifetime of musical and personal exploration by Sjunne Ferger.Child jazz drummer prodigy, arts venue operator, music teacher and Aikido practitioner, a bewildering array of personal & creative influences are distilled into the Örebro native’s only long player. Written around a new wave context, his own jazz fusion roots and at times with an unintentionally balearic outcome, Sjunne goes some way to conjuring up a singular sounding album of the time.Narratives of love and loss, calls to self-empowerment and mindfulness, the new age zeal throughout follows Sjunne’s own awakening. Its music caught in meditative reflection one mo-ment before propelling into ecstatic revelation the next, with Sjunne’s collective ‘Exit’ providing electric backing throughout. Propelled by the Drummer’s beat, its hard not to be caught up with Sjunne’s personal vision of a ‘Polymood Music’Painstakingly transferred and fully remastered from the original tapes, with new liner notes and photography in the vinyl edition. Mindgames follows Strangelove’s previous issue of Sjunne’s early singles and soundtrack work on “Childrens Mind” (SL106)
