Shoeb Ahmad - Facade | Provenance (PR036)

Provenance: ...The contemplative and stretched out twin to last year’s A Body of Full Of Tears, Sia Ahmad continues to revisit her most formative inspirations on Facade, blurring aged textures into contemporary expressions on this newest addition to the Shoeb Ahmad oeuvre.

Less claustrophobic than ABFOT and clearer in sonic detail, Facade picks up threads of familial reality, gendered safety and mapping place to weave into a tapestry of disembodied found sound, lush harmonies and widescreen metronomic presence. Once forgotten and now again inhabited, the songs here continue a journey to reclaim what drove Ahmad to create and explore.

All profits from sales go towards ongoing contributions made to Aboriginal Legal NSW/ACT and Pay The Rent.

‘The Beginning & End Of Cereal Killer” is the band’s first full length album to date and also their last release since 2016’s, “Demo’s EP”. The result is mind-blowing.Cereal Killer gained worldwide success in 2016 after their headline performances at Glastonbury and Coachella festivals where they blew away hundred’s of thousands of adorning fans and reached international stardom. The band have not performed since 2018’s Old Bar show on August 17, in which a predicted 7,000 screaming fans crammed into the building. However, rumours of an album launch on August the 3rd this year are emerging, and tickets are predicted to sell out within the first hour of sale.

Sjunne Ferger on Bandcamp: ...Occupying its own hinterland within Scandinavia's early 80s electronic/ progressive movements, ‘Mindgames’ navigates a lifetime of musical and personal exploration by Sjunne Ferger.Child jazz drummer prodigy, arts venue operator, music teacher and Aikido practitioner, a bewildering array of personal & creative influences are distilled into the Örebro native’s only long player. Written around a new wave context, his own jazz fusion roots and at times with an unintentionally balearic outcome, Sjunne goes some way to conjuring up a singular sounding album of the time.Narratives of love and loss, calls to self-empowerment and mindfulness, the new age zeal throughout follows Sjunne’s own awakening. Its music caught in meditative reflection one mo-ment before propelling into ecstatic revelation the next, with Sjunne’s collective ‘Exit’ providing electric backing throughout. Propelled by the Drummer’s beat, its hard not to be caught up with Sjunne’s personal vision of a ‘Polymood Music’Painstakingly transferred and fully remastered from the original tapes, with new liner notes and photography in the vinyl edition. Mindgames follows Strangelove’s previous issue of Sjunne’s early singles and soundtrack work on “Childrens Mind” (SL106)
ORANGE MILK RECORDS: ...Headbanging In The Club is an ode to the Pittsburgh underground electronic music community. In a small city with very few recognized club spaces, we make our own clubs in the underground on our own terms. We celebrate our unique intersections of noise, punk, breakcore, IDM, and DnB as we headbang and thrash around. What defines a club space? Who says we can't bring the club to the punk venue? We challenge the frameworks of club culture and what it means to dance in the club. This album is the essence of a hardcore dance experience on the fringes of the Burgh. && we headbang in the club.with love,W00dyAll tracks were written for live performance and have been played all over the US in the past three years.
