Various - Microevolutions | Animalia (ANIMA5)

Animalia presents the first in a series of 2 x 12” compilations… For volume one, comes Microevolutions… An homage to the label’s continued growth and evolution, a label dedicated to authentic celebrations of talented local artists. Here, Animalia returns to its roots with a release compiled by the members of Menage (plus special guests Ebbs n Flow), all compiled in the northern suburbs of Naarm (Melbourne). The compilation showcases the various moods and facets that make up the deep yet somehow undefinable Animalia sound. From deep techno to UK garage and everything in between, Microevolutions is an earnest reflection of the diversity of sound that makes Animalia so special.

hellosQuare: ...Recorded while overseas and waiting in the wings for just over a year, this talented Australian duo create a world of deep sound, founded on a base of acoustic instrumentation (the aformentioned saxophone along with gongs and percussion) and rewired with live processes. Touching on elements of noise music as well as improvised jazz and glitch electronics in it's aural palette, Circuitous is a must for lovers of musique concrete and dark ambient/doom drone.
Editions Mego: ...NPVR is moniker taken on board by PITA AKA Peter Rehberg and Factory Floor’s Nik Void. 33 33 is their debut recording. Peter and Nik both share formidable reputations in the post industrial shape-shifting world of sound and form with a vast range of releases and collaborative endeavours over a number of years. Together they tie together their collective experience into a vast array of sonic devices unleashing an album of pragmatic imbalance and psychedelic orientation. Blurring the lines of techno, ambient, avant garde, noise etc 33 33 positions itself in the nebulous realm of contemporary (dis)comfort presenting itself on the border of music and sound, the social and the private.
